In alignment with the Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009 section 12(1)(C), Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSE&L) is proud to implement a policy mandating that recognized private schools reserve 25% of their seats in entry class for children belonging to disadvantaged group & weaker sections of the society. This progressive step aims to bridge the educational gap and ensure that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to quality education.
We firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of personal and societal development. By allocating a quarter of seats in recognized private schools to children from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, we strive to create an environment where diverse perspectives thrive, nurturing a more inclusive and harmonious society.
This initiative not only fulfills a legal obligation but also underscores our collective responsibility to build a more just and equitable society. Private schools play important role in shaping the educational landscape, and this move reinforces their role as partners in the larger mission of providing quality education to all.

I am pleased to announce the launch of the RTE portal for our district. This portal represents a significant step towards promoting social inclusion and empowerment through education.
The RTE portal will help us identify and support marginalized and disadvantaged students in Ranchi, ensuring that they have access to the resources and support they need to succeed in school. It will also provide valuable data and insights that will enable us to develop targeted interventions to address the needs of these students.
